Fasting and prayer often go hand in hand. Jesus saw fasting as part of the Kingdom life with God. As we explored last week with prayer - fasting is not a HAVE to - but a GET to. Fasting is not a time to get things from God or even to get God to love you. It is a time to draw closer to Him - and to commune His spirit with yours. “When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.
